About the Role
An established mineral processing operation in regional Western Australia is seeking a motivated and hands-on Deputy Site Manager with a strong production focus. This role supports the Site Manager in ensuring safe, efficient, and consistent plant operations while maintaining production targets, quality standards, and operational compliance.
This is a practical leadership role suited to someone with experience in mineral processing, manufacturing, industrial processing plants or warehousing who enjoys leading teams, improving productivity, and maintaining reliable plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Site Manager in the day-to-day operation of the mineral processing plant
* Drive production performance to meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets
* Supervise plant operators and production staff across crushing, screening, drying, and bagging operations
* Coordinate shift operations, production scheduling, and plant throughput
* Ensure safe work practices and compliance with Australian WHS regulations
* Conduct pre-start inspections, plant checks, and operational monitoring
* Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimise plant output
* Assist with maintenance coordination to minimise operational disruptions
* Monitor product quality and ensure processing specifications are maintained
* Support training and development of plant personnel
* Maintain production records, shift reports, and operational documentation
* Assist with inventory, logistics coordination, and finished product dispatch
Skills and Experience
* Experience in mineral processing or industrial manufacturing operations
* Strong understanding of plant production processes and equipment
* Proven ability to supervise and motivate production teams
* Experience managing operational performance and production targets
* Knowledge of workplace safety and WHS requirements
* Practical problem-solving skills and ability to work in a hands-on environment
* Mechanical aptitude and experience working with processing equipment
* Good organisational and communication skills
* Forklift licence and machinery operation experience desirable
* Schedule 26 (Site Senior Executive) and BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety Certification would be desirable
