DWS is seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer from a former banking background to join a high‐performing engineering team delivering large‐scale, event‐driven backend systems. This role focuses on building resilient Java microservices that support high‐volume, real‐time financial transactions within a highly regulated environment.

The role requires
* Strong, hands‐on experience designing and developing Java microservices using Spring Boot
* Proven background working in banking or core financial services environments
* Substantial experience building event‐driven architectures using Kafka
* Expertise developing RESTful APIs for complex internal and external integrations
* End‐to‐end ownership across design, build, deployment and production support
* Strong automated testing practices including unit and integration testing
* Experience tuning performance, resilience, and system observability
* Confidence contributing to technical design discussions and mentoring engineers
* Experience deploying to AWS container platforms with modern CI/CD pipelines
* Strong understanding of security, compliance, and regulated delivery standards
