Job Title: Senior Spectral Geologist

We are seeking a Senior Spectral Geologist to lead the implementation of our field-deployable hyperspectral (HS) scanning system, part of the TruScan logging platform. This role offers an opportunity to develop and apply cutting-edge mining technology.
The senior HS geoscientist will collaborate with the global geoscience team and liaise with our principal spectral geologist to support daily HS data processing. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of hyperspectral mineralogy related to mineral exploration and mining, aiming to develop workflows that enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Responsibilities include:
1. Deploy and utilize Veracio hyperspectral tools to ensure end-user satisfaction.
2. Create custom spectral libraries and workflows for various projects.
3. Regularly review and perform QA/QC on HS data.
4. Process, evaluate, and report on HS mineralogical and geochemical results daily.
5. Engage with clients to develop mineralogical workflows and reporting standards, ensuring project goals are met.
6. Manage relationships with drill crews, geologists, mine supervisors, and internal teams.
7. Troubleshoot technical issues related to HS equipment.
8. Provide feedback on technological innovations and documentation.
9. Train and supervise new HS team members.
10. This role may require travel (~1/3 of the time), with schedule flexibility to accommodate different time zones.
Qualifications:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in HS mineral interpretation (VNIR and SWIR).
* Proficiency with spectral mineral software such as TSG, ENVI, Viewspec.
* Master's degree in Geology, Geochemistry, or related field.
* Knowledge of hard rock geology, alteration, and ore deposits.
* Field experience in mineral exploration or mining.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
* Valid passport and willingness to travel.
* XRF technology experience related to hard rock geochemistry.
* Understanding of geochemical analysis, exploration geochemistry, ore deposit modeling, or geometallurgy.
* Basic knowledge of SQL, R, and Python.
* Adaptability to new IT systems.
* Experience in geological laboratories.
