WHAT'S INVOLVED?
As our new Commercial Analyst, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and reviewing pricing across multiple product portfolios. In addition to core pricing work, you will support forecasting, trade spend evaluation, discount analysis, and the ongoing enhancement of our financial strategies.
Alongside this, you'll manage a range of ad‑hoc commercial analyses, providing timely insights that help guide strategic and operational initiatives across the business.
In this full‑time role, you'll bring both analytical capability and enthusiasm, enabling strong business partnering, improving transparency in our numbers, and fostering effective, proactive communication across teams.
Your Role in the Commercial Team:
* Pricing Governance: Review pricing proposals from Sales and Marketing to ensure they meet margin parameters and manage the application of related discounts.
* Discounts Analysis: Assess discount structures and their impact on profitability. Share insights to refine pricing strategies and optimise offers.
* Forecasting: Assist with the preparation of long-terms forecasts while ensuring forecast data is underpinned by key data available.
* Reporting: Prepare and present clear, insightful financial reports that highlight key metrics, variances, and trends—turning complex data into actionable stories for stakeholders.
* Performance Monitoring: Track financial performance, identify trends and variances, and uncover opportunities to strengthen our commercial strategies.
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to align on financial goals, communicating complex information in a way that's simple and engaging.
What We're Looking For:
* Experience: Previous experience in pricing within a manufacturing or retail environment is highly desirable. Familiarity with ERP systems (QAD) is a bonus.
* Education: A bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
* Communication Skills: You can turn complex financial concepts into clear, engaging conversations—whether it's a formal presentation or a quick chat.
* Excel Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. If you can whip up a macro in your sleep, we want you
* Reporting Proficiency: Strong ability to craft and present detailed financial reports that bring data to life and drive smart decisions.
* Detail Oriented: Meticulous and accurate, with a talent for spotting trends and anomalies others might miss.
* Team Player: Collaborative, enthusiastic, and approachable—with a can-do attitude and a great sense of humour.
