Job Description
About the Role:
As Project Manager, play a key role in overseeing the rollout of the Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network across the state. Lead projects from strategic planning through to construction and successful delivery, ensuring each stage is executed efficiently and to the highest standard.
The role requires strong technical expertise in telecommunications fibre networks and exceptional project management skills. Plan, organise, and deliver complex infrastructure projects, driving timelines, maintaining quality, and aligning with the company's broader strategic goals to provide reliable, high-speed connectivity solutions.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
* Ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of projects across the portfolio
* Manage the deployment and rollout of infrastructure to support FTTH within Opticomm communities
* Oversee quality assurance for construction works completed by subcontractors
* Liaise with developers and their consultants on project specifications, timelines, and deliverables
* Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures across the construction division
* Manage resource requirements and allocation across the region
* Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors
About You:
The ideal person for this role will have/be:
* 10+ years' experience in telecommunications construction, with a focus on project management
* Formal qualifications in project or leadership management
* Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards
* Valid WA Driver's License
* Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control Plans cards (preferred)
* Proven experience managing civil contractors in greenfield and brownfield telecom projects
* Familiarity with Telstra's ADR system
* Ability to liaise with homeowners regarding installation specs and scheduling
* Working knowledge of electrical systems, DC power, RF (FTA/SAT), and GPON networks
* Understanding of IP networking, logistics, Wi-Fi, security, and access control systems
Essential Experience:
* Experience in managing civil contractors with the delivery of telecommunications pit and pipe infrastructure in greenfield and brownfield developments
* Experience with using Telstra's Automated Duct Reservation (ADR) system
* Interface with Homeowners on Installation specifications and scheduling of planned works
* Knowledge of Electrical systems
* DC Power fundamentals
* RF- FTA / SAT
* GPON Networks – Pit and Pipe /Fibre/ Equipment and components
* IP Networking
* Logistics
* Understanding of Wi-Fi, Security, Access Control and other ICN offerings
