**THE ROLE**
Positioning the organization for success, this role leads a team responsible for the delivery of product sourcing, supply chain management and administration. This role develops and executes sourcing strategies, establishes robust supplier networks, negotiates favourable contracts, and fosters strong relationships with suppliers. By leveraging market intelligence and conducting thorough analyses, the Sourcing Lead identifies potential cost-saving opportunities, mitigates risks, and optimizes the overall supply chain process. Associated administration activity includes purchasing, payments, renewable energy scheme processing and general admin activity associated with suppliers, contractors and regulators.
This role will also be responsible for:
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier performance
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through effective negotiations, supplier consolidation, and leveraging market intelligence
- Conduct thorough evaluations of potential suppliers, considering factors such as quality, reliability, pricing, and sustainability
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers. Ensure contracts are comprehensive, align with legal and regulatory requirements, and protect the organization's interests. Monitor contract compliance and address any contractual issues
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with sourcing activities, such as supply chain disruptions, quality issues, or geopolitical factors
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, legal, and quality assurance teams, to align sourcing activities with overall business strategies
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline sourcing processes, enhance efficiency, and optimize the supply chain. Implement best practices, benchmark performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve cost savings and operational excellence.
- Lead and develop a high-performing sourcing team
- Ensure sourcing activities comply with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations, promote ethical sourcing practices, and implement measures to maintain compliance throughout the sourcing process.
**IS THIS YOU?**
You will have:
- A degree or demonstrated experience-based equivalent in commerce, engineering, business or similar relevant discipline
- Minimum 10 years demonstrated experience in sourcing, procurement and contract source negotiation
- Demonstrated experience in the renewables and solar industries is highly desirable
- Demonstrated team leadership
- Demonstrated experience in supply chain logistics management
- Demonstrated experience in administration activity
- Sound computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience in using Pronto Software would be advantageous, but not essential
