The Position
Title: Registered Nurse - Perioperative Student 2024
Department: Perioperative
Classification: Nurses and Midwives EA (Registered Nurse Grade 2 YP3-YP9)
Hours per fortnight: 54
Status: Fixed term part time (12 months from February 2024)
Applications are sought from suitably qualified Registered Nurses for the position of Perioperative Student, Grade 2, within the Operating Theatre.
This position will be a minimum of EFT (6 x 9 hour shifts) commencing in Feb 2024 with a duration of 12 months. This position is dependent upon successful enrolment in a Post Graduate Perioperative Course and on-going participation. The successful applicant will also be subject to initial performance review six months after commencement in the role.
The successful applicant will have significant clinical experience, knowledge of theatre, a commitment to the development of the nursing profession, and teamwork.
Contracted hours will allow for additional supernumerary, unpaid access to Theatre Department in order to achieve the required outcomes of the course.

4. Must be available for the on call roster for after hours including weekends.

This position requires completion of a satisfactory National Police Check and (where relevant) provision of a Working With Children Check and check on the Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme prior to appointment. In addition, this position requires evidence of vaccination status for COVID-19.
