This is a recruitment pool for permanent part‑time and fixed‑term part‑time appointments up to 64 hours per fortnight. Fixed‑term appointments will be made with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 28 February 2027.
Role Overview
This position provides continuity of midwifery care during the antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum periods as a member of a midwifery group practice for culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) women within a hospital setting. In accordance with the ANMC Competency Standards for Midwives, the Code of Ethics and professional conduct for midwives, the Clinical Midwife works as part of a collaborative team with medical and allied health practitioners with a focus on safe, effective, culturally sensitive care that meets the needs of individual women and their families.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide antenatal care and support for CaLD women.
- Assist with intrapartum care and support for women during labour.
- Provide postpartum care and education for new mothers.
- Collaborate with medical and allied health practitioners to ensure safe and effective care.
- Maintain culturally sensitive practices and meet individual patient needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Registered midwife with valid registration.
- Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations preferred.
- Robust commitment to NMHS core values: Care, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork and Integrity.
- Required to undergo Western Australian Working With Children (WWC) Check.
