THE POSITION
Prepare fresh, delicious meals at our Italian-style bistro, located on the beautiful grounds of James Cook University.
Work as part of a small, supportive team preparing short-order meals
The role will have a focus on menu development and cost control responsibilities.
Monitor stock and minimize wastage
Adhere to hygiene standards and following proper food handling practices
Deliver healthy choices and guidance to the future generation
THE PERSON
Minimum Cert. III Commercial Cookery
Current Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain
2-3 years' experience as a chef & Experience with cooking in bulk quantities
Confident working with dietary requirements and allergen management protocols
Passionate about healthy and nutritious food
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain consistency across multiple meal services
