About the Role
As Sous Chef, you will play a key leadership role in our kitchen—supporting the Head Chef in day-to-day operations, ensuring consistently high-quality food preparation, and contributing to menu development. You will help oversee kitchen staff, maintain a clean and efficient workspace, and uphold excellent food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef with all aspects of kitchen management
* Lead and supervise kitchen staff during service
* Prepare and cook dishes to a high standard across all dining areas
* Contribute to menu planning, specials, and seasonal offerings
* Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
* Maintain stock levels, assist with ordering, and minimise wastage
* Help oversee catering for functions, events, and golf club activities
About You
We're looking for someone who brings creativity, professionalism, and a positive attitude to the kitchen. The ideal candidate will have:
* Minimum 2 years previous experience as a Sous Chef or similar role
* A passion for fresh, high-quality food
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Ability to perform well under pressure
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and event days as required
* Qualification in Commercial Cookery (Cert III/IV or equivalent) essential
