QCCS (QLD Complete Contracting Services) is currently seeking experienced Leading Hands to join our team on an active, long-term project at Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal (DBCT) in Mackay.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a leadership role on a live project that is already underway and running through to 2028, with the potential to continue. Enjoy the benefits of working locally with no FIFO or DIDO – work a Monday to Friday roster and be home every night.
About the Role:
As a Leading Hand, you will play a critical role on site. Your day-to-day will involve:
* Leading and supervising small crews across repairs, maintenance, and civil construction works.
* Coordinating daily tasks and workflows to ensure project timelines are met.
* Ensuring strict safety, quality, and productivity standards are maintained.
* Assisting with hands-on carpentry, concreting, or civil works alongside your team as required.
* Liaising effectively with supervisors and the wider project management team.
What We're Looking For:
* Proven experience as a Leading Hand, Foreman, or senior tradesperson.
* Minimum 3-5 years of Leading Hand or Foreman experience required.
* A strong background in civil construction, concreting, or carpentry.
* The ability to confidently read and interpret site plans.
* Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
* Construction White Card, relevant trade qualifications, and machinery tickets.
* Current driver's licence and reliable transport.
* Highly Beneficial: Current DBCT site access and an MSIC Card.
