Waste Support and Weighbridge Officers
Located at the Maitland Resource Recovery Facility, our Waste Support and Weighbridge Officer plays an integral role in the operation of the Maitland Resource Recovery Facility (MRRF). Our officers support our Waste Team by actioning administrative tasks that assist and enable the effective provision of waste management services, whilst delivering a high level of customer service through the operation of the weighbridge.
The role is responsible for actioning waste related requests, responding to relevant correspondence and assisting our community and customers with issues like new services, bin collection, bulky waste service and other waste service related requests. As part of the weighbridge services, our officers are a welcoming face to all customers, maintaining accurate transaction records for each vehicle and completing daily reconciliation.
About You
To be successful within this role, you will hold a Certificate IV in Business Administration, Local Government Operations or relevant experience in the provision of administrative support in a multi‑disciplinary environment. Your exceptional customer service skills and experience will enable you to give a high level of service to our community, and you will be able to demonstrate solid computer literacy abilities.
You will be a team player who thrives in a positive environment, working together collaboratively to continue to support our community. Prior experience within the waste industry and familiarity with waste management practices would be highly desirable.
Benefits
This is a full‑time, permanent position with a base salary range of $66,927 up to $74,289 per year based on demonstrated experience + penalty rates + 12% super.
Working hours for the position are 35 hours per week across Monday – Sunday, on a rotating roster working every second weekend, with a spread of hours between 8:00am to 4.00pm.
