About the Role
As a Communications Officer, you will:
* Deliver Council's corporate communication and media activities.
* Manage websites and digital platforms to optimise content quality and user experience.
* Maintain a strategic content calendar to ensure timely and consistent communication.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead engaging corporate communications and media activities, ensuring alignment with Council guidelines.
* Create high-quality content for digital and traditional channels.
* Foster collaboration across departments and support community engagement initiatives.
* Demonstrate Council's values: creative, accessible, respectful, energetic, and safe.
* Tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing, or a related field.
* Proven experience producing copy across all media for diverse audiences.
* Ability to think creatively and generate new ideas.
* Strong oral and presentation skills to engage with community groups and stakeholders.
* Excellent time management skills to meet competing deadlines.
* Local Government experience.
* Experience in community education/engagement.
* Graphic design skills and experience.
