An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Property Maintenance Officer to join our team at Living Choice Fullarton in the leafy suburb of Fullarton in Adelaide.
Who You are
The position of Property Maintenance Officer is a hands-on role and will report to, and work with the Village Manager to ensure a customer focused maintenance service is provided.
Thir role will require a high degree of accountability, autonomy, flexibility and a positive approach to the key responsibilities. If you are someone who is organised and solutions-focused and you take pride in your work, this is the position for you.
The role is full-time and is based at Fullarton from Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm.
This position will require some attendance to other villages from time to time.
This role will suit someone who is:
* Experienced in property maintenance and gardening and who can work individually or within a team environment, ensuring that safe work practices are always maintained.
* Responsible, reliable, and punctual and who can communicate confidently and respectfully with our residents, visitors, staff and external service providers.
* Possesses sound relationship management and excellent organisational skills with a broad experience in a range of trades.
Key Responsibilities
* General maintenance of the property, buildings and grounds care within the village.
* Minor handyman repairs, general plumbing, painting, and property maintenance work.
* Preventative and routine maintenance as per the schedules.
* Maintain cleanliness of the maintenance / gardening workshop and ensure equipment and tools are kept in good operational order.
* Undertake basic inventory control of plant and equipment.
* Compile maintenance requests & attend to these in order of priority or as directed.
* Coordinate & assist external contractors around the village.
* Attend to requests from time to time of village grounds & gardens in accordance with the ground care schedule.
* Attend to other grounds maintenance as required e.g. perimeter clean up, graffiti removal, cleaning external and internal vacant apartments/units.
Desirable Criteria
* Minimum 2 years relevant experience in repairs, maintenance, with some gardening experience.
* The ability to work in a team and on your own along with flexibility with attitude and approach to responsibilities.
* Excellent time management skills and the ability to follow the task through to completion.
* Able to coordinate, assist with and supervise trades people when required.
* Understanding of and commitment to WHS requirements.
* Great verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent customer service and working with older people (desirable).
* Be subject to a satisfactory national police check.
* Willing to undertake a Senior First Aid course.
* Possess a current and valid driver's license.
