About The Role
The Financial Accountant is responsible for preparing regular reports and assisting with month-end processes and reconciliations. The role will identify, develop and implement processes and systems that improve daily operations and provide high level support, analysis and financial reporting to the business units.
Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within CatholicCareManagement and communication of the month-end task listPrepare the monthly and annual financial statements for CatholicCareEnsure accurate tracking and reporting of grant, philanthropic and contract fundingCoordinate and review the month end process and increase accuracy and completeness of monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliationsTake a key role in Finance team projects, including planned changes in TechnologyOne (CatholicCare accounting software) and other projects from time to timeImprove processes in bank reconciliations, AP processing, invoicing, AR receiptingMonitor the integration between the Client Management Information System (CMIS), Technology One and the Chart of Accounts.Lead the engagement with the external auditors including preparation of annual statutory accounts
About You
To be successful for this role you should have:
Appropriate tertiary qualifications and membership of a recognised professional accounting organisation such as CPA or Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants Experience in providing strategic financial analysis, identifying financial and business process improvementExcellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, consultation and relationship skills to monitor, negotiate and advise on issues relating to effective financial managementDemonstrated high level organisational, analytical and critical thinking skills, with the capacity to deliver high quality outcomes and meet deadlinesProvide informed, knowledgeable direction and mentorship of the Finance team across all functional requirements in a collegiate, supportive and positive manner
