Job Summary
Due to an ever-growing portfolio of metro and rail projects, AECOM’s Rail Team in Sydney is seeking to expand its team. We are looking for an aspiring and motivated 'Senior Electrical Engineer - Earthing & Bonding' within the Rail sector. The candidate should share a passion for technical excellence and enjoy the challenge of delivering multi-discipline projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to be actively involved in an innovative and highly motivated team of professionals and be instrumental in delivering landmark projects within NSW and across Australia.
As a 'Senior Electrical Engineer - Earthing & Bonding', you will actively participate and contribute to developing technical solutions while working within wider discipline and project teams. You will be responsible for developing the earthing designs supporting the overall electrical systems on infrastructure projects.
Some of your day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Providing engineering solutions from concept design through to detail design, including advice and review in the field of electrical earthing and bonding,
* Be able to support designs for high and low voltage systems as well as DC or AC traction systems,
* Be able to effectively communicate ideas and project issues to the project team and develop a detailed understanding of projects including the authoring of assessment and design reports,
* Working at project sites from time to time, as required, to undertake soil resistivity tests and stray current survey works.
* Ensuring all electrical work is completed in accordance with Australian standards and sound engineering principles,
* Contributing to the development of client relationships including identification of opportunities through the excellent work that you perform whilst working on the job.
* Inspire and mentor AECOM professionals and graduates to support team growth and upskilling.
Minimum Requirements
As an 'Senior Electrical Engineer - Earthing & Bonding' within the team, you will actively participate in and contribute to the winning, management and delivery of moderate to large-scale projects whilst enhancing client and working relationships.
Ideally, you will have:
* Design experience in earthing and bonding, including experience and regular use of CDEGS (SES & Technologies) software
* In-depth knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and industry guidelines.
* Experience in the technical delivery of multi-disciplinary rail projects – experience with Sydney Trains / TfNSW is beneficial
* Flexibility to work on a broad range of projects supporting earthing and bonding designs
* Experience preparing design and assessment reports, plus the development of detailed drawings
* Strong oral and written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
