About The Role
This role will deliver the on-ground works for the eradication of Yellow Crazy Ants in accordance with the Yellow Crazy Ant Management Program. The position works within a small team of Ecology Technicians and is supported and led by the Crew Leader – Yellow Crazy Ant.

Fixed Term Full Time opportunity available (Up to June 2027, 9 day fortnight, 38 hours/week)
Manual Drivers Licence, White Card
LGE 4 ($59,905 per annum + superannuation)
About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
Ability and willingness to work in remote environments including but not limited to farmland, untrekked mountains and other natural bushland, residential properties, roadsides, parkland, construction and industrial sites
Ability to safely operate a range of light plant items, machinery and equipment associated with Yellow Crazy Ant management works
Sound oral and written communication skills with the ability to work professionally and effectively with others
Demonstrated problem solving skills with the ability to achieve effective solutions to challenges
Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and accurately report on-ground observations
Knowledge of the Microsoft Suite and field equipment (e.g. data loggers, GPS, etc.)
Essential Requirements Of The Role Include
Positive Notice Blue Card – Working with Children Queensland, or ability to obtain
Ability to obtain a Townsville City Council Authorised Persons and Local Government Worker Card
Current Manual C Class license
Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD)
Desirable Qualifications And Experience Include
Certificate III Conservation and Land Management or similar qualification
Current Pest Management Technicians (Domestic Pest) license
4WD training
Inspect and Clean Machinery for Plant, Animal and Soil Material competency
License to Operate a Forklift Truck
Certified to Operate an ATV / SxS
First Aid/CPR Certificate
