Please note: We are recruiting to two part-time opportunities (19 hours per week each) within the one service – one Senior Clinical/ Forensic Psychologist and one Clinical/Forensic Psychologist. Our service is open to one suitably qualified applicant working across both positions (total 38 hours per week).

At Morisset Hospital, you'll join a professional, supportive team of mental health clinicians committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred psychiatric rehabilitation.

Our service works with consumers under both the Mental Health Act and the Forensic Mental Health Act, supporting people to build skills, confidence and resilience as part of their recovery journey.

It's an exciting time to join us. We are currently collaborating on the design of a brand-new, purpose-built facility in the Maitland area, with relocation planned for 2027.

About the Role

As a Clinical/Forensic Psychologist within Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services, you will play an integral role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychological care within a hospital setting. You will work with forensic and long-term rehabilitation consumers experiencing complex interpersonal, affective and behavioural presentations.

Core Responsibilities (Both Roles)

* Psychological assessment, diagnosis and treatment
* Comprehensive formulation and recovery-focused intervention planning and delivery
* Cognitive and psychopathy psychometric assessment and report writing
* Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
* Supporting positive outcomes for consumers, families and carers

You will be supported to further develop specialist forensic assessment skills where required.

Additional Responsibilities - Senior Clinical/ Forensic Psychologist

In addition to maintaining a clinical caseload, the Senior role provides leadership within the psychology team and broader service, including:

* Clinical supervision and professional consultation
* Coordinating and managing a small psychology team
* Prioritising tasks and allocating workload
* Contributing to service development and strengthening a consumer-centred psychology model
* Providing discipline-specific leadership within the multidisciplinary environment

This role is ideal for an experienced clinician ready to combine advanced practice with meaningful leadership.

About You

* Experience working with forensic and/or long-term rehabilitation populations in a hospital setting
* Confidence working within multidisciplinary teams
* An understanding of the drivers of forensic presentations and enduring mental illness
* A strong commitment to recovery-oriented, person-centred practice

Requirements

* Eligibility to drive in NSW
* Current registration as a Psychologist with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate clinical psychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration or recognised equivalent, displayed on the Psychology Board of Australia website.
* For Senior role: 5 years practice at the level of endorsement, and Board-Approved Psychology Supervisor status.

* An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part time and temporary part time vacancies.

* Generally registered as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia with area of practice endorsement for forensic or clinical psychology, as well as Psychology Board Approved Supervisor status.
* Extensive effective experience in assessment, intervention and evaluation of clinical outcomes with forensic and/or longer-term rehabilitation consumer populations. Demonstrated ability to work independently in the provision of patient/consumer-focused care.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes.
* For Senior Clinical/Forensic Psychologist applicants: Detail your experience in clinical leadership, where you have been able to demonstrate your ability to influence and facilitate change.
