The Role
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, this role supports the Stores department and the manufacturing facility in ensuring that all materials are available in a timely and cost effective manner, coordinating the purchase, receipt and processing for all direct material costs.
Your hands-on role as Purchasing and Inventory Officer will include but not be limited to the following duties:
o Raising, receipting and invoicing of purchase orders
o Following up all outstanding orders and supplier credits
o Stocktake entry, analysis and resolution
o High volume data processing
o Liaising with established suppliers and holding accountability to supply agreements
o Communicating clearly with internal customers
o Evaluating alternative suppliers
o Process internal staff purchases
o Review and reduce slow moving stock
You
o A minimum 2 years purchasing experience
o A working knowledge of Navision or other ERP software
o Strong verbal and written communication skills
o Excellent time management and organisational skills
o Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
o Great attention to detail
o Experience in cabinet/furniture making industry highly desirable
o Excellent personal presentation
o Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office
o A keen desire to own and succeed in the role and the ability to identify future areas for improvement
