About the Position
As the Events & Experience Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic development, planning, coordination and delivery of high-quality events and experience-led engagements that support Charles Darwin University's (CDU) brand and student recruitment objectives.
The role is responsible for the development and ongoing refinement of a University-wide Events and Experience Strategy, with a focus on student recruitment, conversion and community engagement. This strategy will articulate how events contribute to CDU's growth, brand and engagement objectives, define priority audiences and event types, and guide consistent experience design, delivery and evaluation across the University.
The role also works with close collaboration with Student Recruitment, Marketing, Digital and Faculty and TAFE stakeholders to ensure events function as effective conversion and engagement touchpoints. The role requires strong project management, experience design and stakeholder engagement skills to ensure events are strategically aligned, insight-led and delivered to a high standard. The Events & Experience Manager supervises event support staff and casual employees and contributes to fostering a positive, professional, and collaborative team culture.
About You
To be successful, you will require:
* A degree qualification in event management, marketing, communications, experience design, project management or a related discipline, or extensive relevant experience.
* Demonstrated experience delivering complex events and experience-led engagements, particularly within a recruitment, engagement, or customer-facing environment.
* Strong understanding of end-to-end experience management, including journey design, audience engagement and conversion-focused outcomes.
* Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
* Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and problem-solving capability.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of briefs, reports, and event collateral.
* Sound knowledge of event protocols, accessibility requirements, risk management and WHS obligations.
* Proficiency in event management systems and digital engagement tools.
* Commitment to the University's values.
* Experience leading high-performing events and/or engagement function within a large, complex organisation.
* Demonstrated ability to contribute strategically to student recruitment, engagement or brand objectives through events and experiences.
* Experience managing high-profile, sensitive or VIP events requiring advanced protocol and stakeholder management.
* Experience in the higher education sector, government or community engagement environments.
* Experience working closely with student recruitment, marketing or admissions teams.
* Familiarity with CRM, marketing automation or event data capture tools.
Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory National Criminal History check, NT Working with Children clearance and successful candidate to hold a current NT driver's licence.
Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at Professional Employee Level 8/9. The base salary will be in the range of $108,349 - $133,103 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $126,768 - $155,730 per annum, inclusive of 17% superannuation.
