About the Business Unit: The Melbourne Assessment Prison (MAP) is a maximum-security facility providing state-wide assessment and orientation services for all male prisoners received into the prison system and is located within the North West Metropolitan Area, Department of Justice and Community Safety. MAP consists of the prison, the custody facilities at the County, Supreme and Appeal Courts and holding cells at St Vincent's Hospital for prisoners requiring outpatient medical treatment. About the Role: The position of an Offender Services Officer is situated within the Offender Services Unit at the Melbourne Assessment Prison. Some of your duties will include: * Delivering a range of programs including Prisoner Orientation, Nicotine Replacement Therapy Program and Prison Profile Program * Acting as a key point of contact for prisoners and unit staff in relation to prisoner welfare and program matters * Providing advice and support to custodial staff in relation to the management of prisoners including their involvement and referral to prison programs.
