We are seeking a skilled Actuarial Data Specialist to join our team for a casual 12-month temporary assignment. As an Actuarial Data Specialist, you will be responsible for providing ongoing monitoring and reporting on the agency's performance against key metrics.
About the Role
You will extract, cleanse, and prepare data from multiple sources, particularly the data warehouse, and advise on appropriate data checks for reasonableness. Your key duties include:
* Updating and developing regular performance monitoring reports;
* Supporting the Actuary Division in fulfilling statutory requirements, including providing data and analysis for reporting to the Board, Minister, and for public data sharing;
* Utilising statistical and mathematical modelling techniques, including actuarial monitoring, analyses, data tabulations, scheme projects, and cost-benefit analyses;
* Undertaking ad hoc modelling requests and report production;
You will work closely with the Strategic Leadership Team to provide key strategic insights on legislative reforms. To be successful in this role, you must have proven experience in the actuarial, data analytics, or data science industry.
Key Requirements
* Proficiency in R, experience with GLMs or GBMs, excellent numerical ability, problem-solving skills, and proficiency in statistical modelling;
* Relevant academic qualifications, including tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, or Statistics, with progression towards Associate or Fellowship qualifications;
* Ability to understand and formulate policies, and good communication skills;
* Availability for a casual 12-month temporary assignment;
* Full-time hours, Monday to Friday;
* Hybrid working arrangement;
