Position Description – Machine Operator
Salary: $67,000 to $75,000 per year
Employment Type: Full-time
ABOUT THIS ROLE:
As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment while supporting the production of high-quality insulated panels. You will contribute to daily output, workplace safety, and team collaboration—ensuring every task aligns with Arctic’s values and production goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Machine Operation
- Operate manufacturing machinery, including:
- Panel Machine
- PIR Machine
- Hot Wire Machine
- Melter
- Conduct pre-start checks and regular equipment maintenance
- Conduct all required quality assurance checks
- Follow safety procedures and report issues or faults
- Monitor machine output for quality and accuracy
- Assist with machine setups, adjustments, and minor repairs
2. Production Support
- Follow daily production schedules and instructions from the Supervisor
- Assist with loading/unloading of raw materials and finished products
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and minimal downtime
- Help with general manufacturing and yard duties when required
3. Warehouse Tasks
- Assist with material handling, part storage, and stocktake
- Safely move goods using approved plant and equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace
4. Safety & Compliance
- Participate in HSE briefings and toolbox talks
- Use appropriate PPE at all times
- Comply with company and industry safety procedures
- Report hazards or incidents promptly
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience & Physical Requirements
- Previous experience operating industrial or manufacturing machinery
- Physically fit and capable of:
- Lifting up to 55kg
- Reaching 30cm forward and 50cm across the body
- Handling objects under 75cm in two dimensions
- Strong understanding of safe work practices
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and consistently
2. Licences & Certifications
- Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Forklift Licence (desirable)
- Relevant Plant Tickets
- Working at Heights Certificate (preferred)
- Load Restraint Certificate (beneficial)
