Medical Officer Role in Hospital in the Home (HITH) Service
The North Canberra Hospital is seeking a skilled Medical Officer to provide acute medical care of patients in their own homes as part of the Hospital in the Home (HITH) service.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for trainees to gain experience in general medicine, geriatric medicine, emergency medicine, and infectious diseases while contributing to quality assurance and research activities within the unit.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing clinical support to staff members and maintaining effective communication with patients and relatives
* Ensuring accurate updating of medical records
* Contributing to quality assurance and research activities
* Participating in education and training programs
* Supporting management of patients in outpatient day infusions services
Requirements:
* Current registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
* Eligibility for membership with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
