Located in the Wheatbelt Region, Narrogin lies near the Dryandra Woodland, a valuable nature conservation area. The region is popular with nature lovers for its diverse flora and fauna, walking trails and guided nocturnal tours of the Barna Mia animal sanctuary.
We currently have an opportunity for a Regional Leader Conservation to join our team.
Under the minimal direction of the Regional Manager, this position:
* Leads and coordinates the planned development and delivery of the Department's conservation services in the Wheatbelt Region.
* Builds knowledge of the status of, and threats to, biodiversity at a regional level and contributes to State level knowledge gaps.
The successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current Working With Children Check and a current and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.

Selection Criteria
1. Considerable knowledge of, and experience in the provision of nature conservation, natural land management services, ecosystem management, bioregional planning and in developing and implementing related operational plans, management plans and strategies; with a preference for a sound knowledge of the flora, fauna and ecosystems of Western Australia.
2. Considerable experience in the effective management and leadership of teams, and in negotiating, communicating and liaising with the community, media, and special interest groups including Aboriginal people.
3. Substantial experience and competence in financial management and other management systems; including project management, risk management, and information technology.
