Are you a strategic finance professional with a passion for high quality reporting, analytics, and stakeholder engagement? Logan City Council is seeking a Reporting and Analytics Lead to coordinate organisation wide financial management reporting and deliver trusted insights that support informed decision making across Council.
About the role
Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Accounting, this role leads the coordination of monthly financial reporting for the organisation and oversees the administration and reporting of the Local Infrastructure Program. You will work autonomously, exercise sound judgement within delegated authority, and provide specialist advice to senior leaders and stakeholders. You will also lead and develop a team of finance professionals, champion continuous improvement and ensure financial reporting processes are accurate, efficient and compliant.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Coordinate and lead the monthly financial management reporting process for Council.
* Ensure accurate, timely, and reliable financial information is provided to senior management, the Executive Leadership Team, and Council.
* Manage and report on the Local Infrastructure Program in line with policy and legislative requirements.
* Review and interpret management and costing reports, supporting business areas to understand financial outcomes.
* Develop and maintain robust systems, processes, and procedures to support financial reporting and analytics.
* Provide high level financial analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision making.
* Lead, mentor, and coach a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of learning and accountability.
* Build strong, collaborative relationships across Finance and the broader organisation.
What You'll Bring
* Extensive experience in financial management reporting in a medium to large organisation.
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills in a technical financial environment.
* Proven ability to manage projects and meet critical deadlines.
* Advanced skills in financial systems such as Technology One, SAP, or Oracle.
* Demonstrated expertise in preparing and interpreting complex financial reports and budgets.
* Leadership capability, including mentoring, coaching, and performance planning.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build relationships across all levels.
* A degree in Business or Accountancy (essential), with CPA/CA membership (desirable).
* A current "C" class driver's licence and the ability to pass employment related background including police checks.
