We are seeking a dedicated healthcare professional to join our team in providing culturally sensitive care to Aboriginal children and their families across the Albury Wodonga region.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver home visiting programs for newborns, promoting healthy development and early intervention.
* Conduct health surveillance and screening for children aged 0–6, identifying potential health risks and providing targeted support.
* Support parenting through education, counselling, and group sessions, empowering families to make informed decisions about their child's health and wellbeing.
* Promote early intervention and health promotion, working collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for families.
* Participate in immunisation programs, contributing to the protection of vulnerable populations and the prevention of infectious diseases.
* Advocate for culturally safe healthcare practices, ensuring that all interactions with patients and families are respectful, empathetic, and trauma-informed.
Requirements
* Registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
* Graduate Certificate in Child and Family Health Nursing
* Desirable: Midwifery registration and postgraduate qualifications
* Experience working with Aboriginal communities and commitment to community development
* Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
