About the Role 
Thisposition forms part of the Electrical Workshop. 
This unit isresponsible for the maintenance, repair, installation andmodification of Townsville City Councils Electrical Infrastructure.This includes but is not limited to, Sewerage Treatment Plants,Sewerage Pump Stations, Water Treatment Facilities, all Parks andOpen Space and Property Services Electrical infrastructure. 
Thesewould include but not limited to, electrical motors, both LV andHV, VF drives, soft starters, conveyors, pumps, control circuitry,scada network system, BBQ’s, general area lighting and allassets that may be included in our Townsville City CouncilBuildings. 
Thisposition will be responsible for maintaining and installingCouncil’s electrical infrastructure to a high standard,working as part of a team, providing guidance and technical adviceon electrical installations for Townsville City Council and itscustomers. 
Thisrole is required to participate in the on-call roster and overtimearrangements as required, to resolve out of hours operationalissues or emergency works including disaster management. 
Thisrole will work from our Electricians Workshop at Mt SaintJohn. 
About You 
Ourideal candidate will have: 
- QualifiedTradesperson as an Electrical Fitter MechanicQueensland. 
- High level ofknowledge about and experience in planning and performingelectrical repairs, maintenance, modifications, andinstallation work unsupervised. 
- High level ofknowledge of current Queensland Electrical Safety Act,Regulations, Codes of Practice and AS/NZS:3000. 
- Ability to readand understand plans, specifications, and complex circuitdiagrams. 
- Intermediatecomputer skills to use Microsoft Office applications and theability to use Council’s Business ManagementSystems. 
- Good Customerservice skills to interact with internal or external customersand the general public. 
- Positive writtenand oral communications skills to complete documentation,reporting writing and planning. 
- ConstructionIndustry White Card (30215 QLD) 
- Hazardous Areatraining and EWP desirable.
