Supportive, welcoming environment Stunning Barangaroo location Corporate boardroom and banquets environment Gastronomy is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and organised Supervisor to lead our front of house team on our clients' corporate hospitality floors. THE PERSON We are looking for a highly organised Supervisor with a warm and personable manner who takes pride in creating beautiful experiences. You will have a high standard of personal presentation, a strong work ethic and a flexible, efficient approach. You will be proactive, have excellent time management skills, the ability to think on your feet and juggle multiple things at once – always with a smile. You will have proven experience in event or function leadership within a corporate or high-end hospitality environment. A background in hospitality or other environments where you have learnt to constantly adapt to change and innovation is vital. THE POSITION This is a hands-on role that involves building client relationships whilst providing exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for staff training, inductions and development, ordering, rostering and ensuring the smooth service of each meeting or event. Duties will include setting up meeting rooms, servicing events such as formal lunches, cocktail parties, conferences and banquet dinners along with the daily service of barista coffee and tea to the meeting room floors. This role involves leading a team of boardroom waiters and baristas and gaining the trust of our teams through your operational knowledge and hands on approach. MINIMUM CRITERIA TO APPLY: 3 years’ experience in corporate hospitality, 5 star hotel, events or premium catering in a supervisory role 2 years Barista experience Current RSA certification Intermediate level of computer skills - Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Advanced level of written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated previous experience with critical analysis situations and proactive problem solving Demonstrated ability to work independently and autonomously Experience in communication with both skilled and unskilled staff Proven record of training and mentoring individuals WH&S awareness To be eligible to apply for this position you must have an appropriate Australian or New Zealand work visa.
