About the Position
Are you a steady, capable leader who thrives in high-pressure environments and knows how to bring out the best in others—day or night? We're looking for an experienced and confident Team Leader to support our crisis support workforce, with a focus on overnight operations and seamless support across 24/7 shifts.
In this role, you'll provide leadership and guidance to an established team of crisis support workers, ensuring they feel supported, safe, and equipped to deliver high-quality services, especially during critical overnight hours when leadership presence matters most. You'll foster a calm, responsive environment and be the go-to person for decision-making, issue escalation, and wellbeing support across shifts.
You'll bring strong leadership experience, with the ability to assess risk, make clear decisions under pressure, and lead structured debriefs to support the emotional and professional wellbeing of your team. This role requires a solid understanding of crisis support or related human services, and the ability to build trusted, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and colleagues across all levels.
Flexibility is key—you'll need to be available for a rotating 9-day fortnightly roster that includes overnight, evening, and some daytime shifts to ensure consistent leadership and support across the week. This will include up to 3 overnight shifts per fortnight (10-6AM), business hours alternative days.
If you're passionate about supporting frontline teams, leading with confidence, and playing a vital role in a 24/7 crisis support environment—we'd love to hear from you.
To be successful in this position you will have:
* Minimum 3 years in a leadership role within crisis support, mental health, or related human services fields.
* Demonstrated high level of professional ability, with the capacity to lead calmly and constructively in emergency and high-pressure situations.
* Proven competency in crisis support, with well-developed leadership and communication skills to lead and influence others effectively.
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support service delivery, operational goals, and continuous improvement.
* Sound judgment and leadership in conducting risk assessments, evaluating situations, minimising risk, and making informed decisions under pressure.
* Competent in using computers and digital systems, including email, internet browsers, data entry platforms, and client management systems.
* Skilled in leading structured debriefings, supporting the emotional and professional well-being of team members.
* Ability to deliver timely, respectful, and constructive feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
* Ability to manage a remote workforce across a 24/7 roster
As a Not for Profit (NFP) organisation, we will offer:
• The opportunity to make this role your own – we love creativity and passion
• 9-day fortnight | Up to 3 overnight shifts per fortnight (10-6AM), business hours alternative days
• Knowledge that you will be part of a team helping to make a difference to your community.
