The Role
The key duties for this position are:
* Assisting in development and maturation of the organisation's export control management framework.
* Maintaining and assuring compliance within the SPO/HMAS Albatross Technology Control Plan.
* Providing general export control related advice, direction, and assistance to various stakeholders.
* Record keeping and auditing of export control agreements to maintain regulatory standards.
* Supporting export control related procurement and contract management activities whilst ensuring compliance.
* Preparing and delivering export control related training and familiarisation sessions with relevant Units.
* Providing other ad hoc commercial support.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement (DECA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. Note: This position will be required to access US export controlled materiel and therefore applicants will be requested to disclose any dual citizenship with another country during the recruitment process. Dual citizens may be subject to further assessment and appointment to this position will be conditional upon approval to access US controlled export material in accordance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
About our Team
NASPO's Commercial Management Section (CMS) is a small and tight-knit team who provides commercial and export control support to wider Fleet Air Arm stakeholders.
This role within NASPO CMS is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to develop skills around management of export controlled technology and general procurement and contracting support in a Defence environment.
