Support children and young people through safe transport, supervised contact and trauma-informed care across Gippsland.
THE ROLE –
Provide practical and emotional support to children, young people, families and carers in line with the referral.
Safely transport children and young people to placements, school, respite, appointments and activities.
Supervise family contact visits and monitor wellbeing, safety and risk during interactions
Deliver flexible case support, including after-hours support where required.
Complete clear case notes, observation records and safety assessments using best interest and MARAM principles.
Communicate key information and concerns to the Team Leader.
Participate in community networks and work collaboratively with external agencies and stakeholders.
Maintain accurate records, reporting and compliance with privacy, child safety and legislative requirements.
Participate in continuous improvement and ongoing training including First Aid and CPR.
The Ideal Candidate will bring:
Experience engaging with children, young people, families and carers in a respectful, trauma-informed way.
Strong understanding of the Victorian Care Services system and case management principles.
Ability to safely transport clients to appointments, school, respite and family contact visits.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Confidence working with professionals, government departments and community organisations.
Strong written skills to complete case notes, observations and safety assessments accurately.
Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and remain calm under pressure.
Commitment to child safety, inclusion, diversity and ethical practice.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general administrative tasks.
Valid Victorian Driver's Licence, Employee Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
Relevant qualifications in Community Services or related discipline (will consider if currently studying).
