Collectively we make the impossible possible.Recognised for delivering projects of global and national significance that help keep Australia safe, it is our shared passion that shapes our culture, and our people that make it a great place to work.About the OPPORTUNITYWe have a great opportunity for a Data & Document Controller to join our Hunter Class Line of Business based at SA – Osborne Naval Shipyard.We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.Reporting to the Senior Configuration and Data Lead, you will contribute to Configuration Management (CM) practises for the project in accordance with the company processes and the project Configuration Management Plan (CMP).You will be responsible for the protection and handling of classified information under Configuration Control i.a.w. company and Defence security requirements.Key responsibilities include:Ensures that data and documentation related to a Product is captured in the CM System and that the approval status of the data and documentation is correctEnsuring all affected CM data / metadata is accurate, current and completeEnsuring that approved documentation, including engineering drawings, is linked in the CM system to the correct part in the Product Breakdown StructureManages the receipt and processing of data deliverables from Suppliers, Subcontractors or the CustomerAssists in identifying and resolving CM problems, and particularly any related to Data & Documentation ControlResponds to actions from the Configuration Control Board, as requiredContributes in the preparation of Project Work Instructions relating to Data ManagementProvide guidance on document formatting and application of project file naming conventions (including electronic file names)About YOUTertiary qualifications in Records Management highly regardedDemonstrated experience working in an engineering environment in a Data / Documentation Control (DDC) or CM role, or a technical role involving DDC or CM or involvement, preferably on a defence project or similarDemonstrated experience in data / document / records Management procedures & instructions with a sound understanding of data / documentation control and management principles, and an understanding of CM basicsSome exposure to recognised DC/CM tools & associated databasesSound analytical skillsGood skills in use of standard Office software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office)Good communication skills, written and verbalWe believe in hiring for potential, we know that some candidates hesitate if they don’t tick all the boxes.
