Build a Career That Matters – With Cement Australia

You’re driven. You’re ambitious. You want your first job out of university to mean something.

At Cement Australia, we don’t just produce cement – we lay the foundations for a more sustainable future. Our two-year Graduate Program is designed for those who want more than just a desk job. You’ll roll up your sleeves and gain hands-on experience across real projects and operations that help shape the infrastructure of tomorrow.

From day one, you'll be a valued team member, contributing ideas, learning from industry experts, and building a solid foundation for a career that’s not only successful but also sustainable.

Why Choose Our Graduate Program?

* Real Projects, Real Impact – Our grads love the “real” work they do. You may get involved in sustainability-focused initiatives like decarbonisation, alternative fuels, and resource recovery or operational projects related to equipment performance or safety.
* Diverse Experience Across Sites – Experience different aspects of our business with structured rotations across Brisbane (QLD), Railton (TAS), Gladstone (QLD) and Clyde (NSW).
* Structured Learning & Mentorship – Accelerate your professional development through a mix of on-the-job experience, formal training, and one-on-one mentoring.
* Work That Moves You – From manufacturing to marketing, see the full cycle of how we deliver essential products to the country.
* A National Network – Join a close-knit cohort of graduates from across Australia and build strong industry connections from the get-go.
* Competitive Salary & Perks – Competitive Salary + novated leasing options, employee discounts, EAP access, and more.

As a Technical Graduate

As a Technical Graduate, you’ll be based at our Brisbane facilities and join the Product Performance & Innovation team, contributing to research, testing, and quality initiatives that support our operations nationwide. You’ll:

* Develop a deep understanding of our bulk product range and how it performs in concrete applications
* Assist with both routine and non-routine testing of cement, concrete, and related materials
* Support product development and innovation aligned with our carbon reduction roadmap
* Help troubleshoot technical issues in collaboration with experienced engineers and scientists
* Work across both lab and field environments to support compliance and quality outcomes
* Gain exposure to customer and commercial interfaces to understand real-world product performance
* Contribute to technical investigations and continuous improvement initiatives

This role offers a unique mix of science, engineering, and innovation – perfect for grads who enjoy solving complex problems and want to build a career grounded in technical excellence and purpose

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for curious, driven grads who want to hit the ground running in 2025. You’ll thrive here if you are:

* Completing (or have recently completed) a degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar
* Excited to apply your technical knowledge in a hands-on, practical setting
* Love solving technical problems and making sense of data
* Have great attention to detail and a quality-first mindset
* A strong communicator and enjoy working with people across disciplines
* Open to relocating for rotations (we’ll support you every step of the way) – sites include Brisbane (QLD), Railton (TAS), Gladstone (QLD), and Sydney (NSW)

Hint: We want to know the real you. If you copy and paste an answer to our questions straight from an AI tool, you're not going to stand out. Take an extra few minutes to make sure your answers reflect you. We don't use AI to screen your application and pride ourselves on the personal engagement in our hiring process. We would love for you to do the same.
