This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata'd to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.
This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

What You'll Be Doing
* The Paediatric Clinical Nurse Consultant will provide expert clinical advice to patients, carers and other health care professionals within a defined specialty to deliver high quality clinical services in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
* Assist in enhancing the long term health outcomes of children within the Far West Local Health District by promoting and facilitating the delivery of high quality child health and paediatric services, participating in education and research initiatives; and providing clinical leadership and nursing consultancy services.
* Participate in the development of Network and District wide paediatric service planning, implementing relevant NSW Health policies and strategic directions, and develop and co-ordinate professional education strategies for acute care and primary health care nursing staff.

How To Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:
* Appropriate tertiary (Masters level) qualifications relevant to specialty with minimum of three years working in that speciality field, with current nursing/midwifery registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Demonstrated clinical expertise and proven ability to provide clinical leadership in the provision and development of clinical practice utilising evidence based research.
* Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and an ability to identify and improve opportunities to enhance continuity of care between the speciality, primary care providers and community based services.
* Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, present and evaluate education, clinical procedures and policies to staff and the community.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently with high level time management, problem solving, analytical and organisational skills.
* Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communication, report writing and research skills.
* Demonstrated ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice through planning, quality management and research.
* Current NSW driver's licence and willingness to travel with possible overnight stays.
