Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and is a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. In Australia, Harmony owns the high-grade CSA copper mine in Cobar, NSW and is constructing the Eva Copper Mine in Cloncurry, QLD with first production targeted for the second half of the 2028 calendar year. About the role:
The Organisational Development Specialist provides subject‑matter expertise in organisational development, culture, leadership capability, diversity and inclusion and workforce planning. Operating from the Brisbane office, the OD Specialist partners with senior leaders, HR teams, and technical experts to deliver evidence‑based solutions that enhance organisational effectiveness, support change, and build a high‑performance culture across multiple, geographically dispersed sites.
Responsibilities:
* Design and deliver OD initiatives aligned to business strategy, including leadership development, talent management, succession planning, and culture programs.
* Conduct needs analyses to identify capability gaps and recommend targeted interventions.
* Develop frameworks, tools, and resources that support organisational effectiveness across operational and regional corporate teams.
* Lead the design and continuous improvement of leadership development pathways for frontline, mid‑level, and senior leaders.
* Develop high‑quality learning content, including workshops, eLearning modules, and blended learning solutions.
* Facilitate leadership and team development sessions across regional sites.
* Provide expertise in capability mapping, skills frameworks, and workforce planning processes.
* Analyse workforce data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide insights to support strategic decision‑making.
* Support the development of career pathways and technical capability programs relevant to mining operations.
* Lead or support change management activities for organisational projects, system implementations, and structural changes.
* Develop change strategies, communication plans, and stakeholder engagement approaches.
* Coach leaders on change readiness, adoption, and behavioural alignment.
* Support the design and implementation of culture‑building initiatives across the region.
* Lead employee engagement processes, including survey design, analysis, reporting, and action planning.
* Contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies and initiatives.
* Oversee OD and L&D systems to ensure data integrity and effective reporting.
* Produce dashboards, insights, and recommendations for senior leaders.
* Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and budgets for OD programs.
Qualifications:
* Degree Psychology, Human Resources, Education or Business.
* Mining industry experience highly regarded.
* OD or L&D Specialist (or higher) experience essential.
* Experience designing and delivering OD initiatives including organisational culture improvement, leadership development and strategic planning highly desirable.
* International (offshore) experience desirable but not essential.
