Job Title: Client Services Officer


About the Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to fill the position of Client Services Officer. This role is responsible for maintaining a supportive environment that fosters positive relationships with clients and their key stakeholders, ultimately achieving client goals and outcomes.

The ideal candidate will oversee a team of disability support workers who provide personalized support to clients in Supported Independent Living (SIL) programs, catering to clients with higher support needs requiring 24x7 assistance, including challenging behaviors, mental health, and autism spectrum disorder.

* Coordinate and collaborate with care teams to meet the day-to-day support needs of clients in SIL programs.
* Foster an understanding of clients' needs and aspirations, exploring options and developing actions to best meet their support needs and personal goals.
* Advocate internally and externally to ensure systems and services protect the rights of clients, providing them with the greatest control over decision-making.
* Promote capacity building and social inclusion to maintain and enhance independence.
* Provide day-to-day communication and supervision of Disability Support Workers.
* Maintain appropriate and timely resolutions of client complaints and issues.
* Support clients during transitions to our organization.
* Participate in a rotating on-call roster, responding to escalated staff calls.


About You

To be successful in this role, you must possess a warm and supportive personality, excellent IT skills, and experience working in the disability sector, particularly in leadership positions.

Essential qualifications include:

* A minimum Certificate IV qualification in a relevant area such as Disability, Community Services, or Aged Care.
* A minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in aged care or a disability support provider.
* A Victorian driver's license.
* A current First Aid and CPR certificate.
* A current NDIS Workers Screening Check.
* Demonstrated ability to provide quality support to clients.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Personal organisation and time management skills.
* Initiative and the ability to identify and prioritize tasks, with flexibility.
* Commitment to customer service and supporting clients to enhance independence and meet personal goals and support social interaction.
* High-level computer literacy (e.g., Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, Smartsheet).
* Reliability, honesty, and integrity.

Desirable qualifications include:

* Experience working in community, residential, and environment settings.
* Tertiary qualifications, currently studying, or equivalent experiences.
* Experience with high-needs clients and Behaviours of Concern.
* Awareness of relevant legislation (such as the Disability Act 2006 or the Department of Health and Human Services' ISO Standards).
