Global Medics is partnering with the Northern New South Wales Local Health District to recruit a Staff Specialist/Consultant Psychiatrist to work across both the Acute Care Services (ACS) and Mental Health Emergency Care (MHEC).
The role is a ***** split between the two areas.
The role is based in Lismore, a vibrant regional city, renowned for its rich cultural heritage, artistic community, and proximity to pristine rainforests and national parks. Lismore is just a short drive through rolling hills to the beaches of Byron Bay, Ballina, Lennox Head, and Evans Head. Sat right on the Queensland border, you\'ll have easy access to major hubs like the Gold Coast and Brisbane
Key Responsibilities
Leads the multidisciplinary team to provide specialist psychiatric services to patients
Promotes patient safety and quality of care. Provides leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education, where relevant, for doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers
Works within the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the LHD
Essential Selection Criteria
Coming from the UK - Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) and a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), awarded under any RCPsych curriculum from August **** to date following satisfactory completion of a General Medical Council or Postgraduate Medical Education and Training Board approved specialty training program in psychiatry in the United Kingdom.
Other Countries - Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent
Demonstrated clinical skills and experience working with mental health problems in Adult Mental Health
Demonstrated experience and ability to work effectively as part of multi-disciplinary team
