Description We currently have Casual roles available for Catering Assistants to join the Spotless team located at Melbourne Immigration Detention Centre, located at Broadmeadows. Spotless, as a subcontractor to Secure Journeys, will be responsible for preparing and serving culturally diverse, nutritious meals contributing to the overall health and well-being of those in the centres. The role has a broad remit, with key responsibilities outlined below: Assemble, prepare, and produce food requirements as directed by the Chef Manager/Head Chef. Cleaning the food preparation and consumption areas, cooking equipment and utensils. Ensure compliance with the HACCP Food Safety Plan, monitoring food safety standards and practices, maintaining hygiene in food preparation areas, and completing all Food Safety Documentation accurately and timely. Ensure all kitchen equipment is operated following safe work procedures, maintained in a clean and safe condition. What you’ll bring Must have Cert II – Kitchen Operations or higher Food Safety Certificates Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment Full understanding of HACCP Food Safety guidelines Strong written and verbal communication abilities Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills More than anything, you’ll have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a drive to provide high quality outcomes for Spotless and our client.
