SMEC is seeking a Principal Coastal Engineer to join our Ports & Maritime portfolio. The role focuses on reviewing key projects, developing concept designs, and contributing to business development within the Maritime sector.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead design review and concept development for coastal engineering projects.
* Provide expert technical advice ensuring compliance with client and SMEC standards.
* Demonstrate high‑level project management skills to deliver outcomes on time and within budget.
* Mentor and coach junior engineers and support commercial success of projects.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
* Member of Engineers Australia.
* 15+ years of relevant experience in coastal project design, delivery, and project management.
* Strong consulting and client management skills; business planning and budgeting acumen.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work within a diverse multidisciplinary team.
* Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards and specifications.
