We're seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Team Leader – Park Ranger to take a hands-on role in ensuring Tolosa Park, Montrose Foreshore, and the GASP Pavilion remain safe, clean, and welcoming for the community. In this position, you'll oversee the daily maintenance, security, and presentation of these important public spaces, ensuring they are functional, well-maintained, and meet council standards.
As the first point of contact for onsite issues, you'll play a key role in supporting community use, enforcing park regulations, and coordinating responses both during and outside regular hours as required. This role requires participation in a regular 7-week roster and may also involve reasonable after-hours activities and overtime when events are scheduled to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out routine park maintenance, including mowing, irrigation, and general upkeep
* Open/close parks and manage daily security
* Maintain toilets, BBQs, facilities, and grounds to a high standard
* Oversee hut bookings and support community use
* Conduct safety inspections and enforce park rules
* Respond to issues and provide after-hours support when needed
* Lead and develop a dedicated team to provide safe and welcoming park areas for our community
What you'll bring:
* Certificate III in Horticulture (or equivalent experience)
* MR Class licence, White Card and First Aid
* Strong maintenance and safety skills
* Confidence working independently and engaging with the public
