Our client is a boutique, client-side project management consultancy providing independent and professional services for property and infrastructure projects. They are seeking an enthusiastic Project Manager to join their innovative, client-focused team. Experience in industrial, warehouse, distribution center projects, as well as commercial and retail, is desirable.
The candidate may come from the client side or head contractor side but should have experience working on the client or consultancy side.
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering projects from scope development through construction to handover, ensuring client expectations are met and exceeded.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
* Experience managing projects from scope development to handover.
* Proven track record in managing design development and regulatory approvals.
* Experience on new build projects from $10m to $50m+, preferably in industrial or similar sectors.
* Experience working for a client-side PM firm or main contractor on D&C contracts in buildings.
* Ability to develop documentation for contractor appointment via competitive tendering.
* Skills to identify and manage construction risks, escalating issues when necessary.
* Ability to manage project expenditure and cash flow.
* Experience handling variations, EOTs, RFIs on the client or contractor side, including obtaining approvals.
* Capability to manage defect identification and rectification.
* A positive, 'can-do' attitude and high client service standards.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or similar.
* Minimum 4 to 8+ years of experience.
* Experience with client-side PM firms or main contractors on D&C contracts.
* Understanding of local and state planning systems and development applications.
* Strong project financial reporting skills.
* Strategic thinking with the ability to see the bigger picture.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Well-developed interpersonal skills.
* Experience working with construct-only and design & construct contracts such as AS4000, AS4902, AS4300, AS2124, GC21, and PC1.
