About the Role
Reason Group is seeking a Bid Manager who is not just a coordinator — but a storyteller. Someone who can turn complex ideas into clear, persuasive narratives that win work and strengthen our reputation as a leading digital government services organisation.
In this role, you'll be the primary author of major bids and proposals across the Australian Government and enterprise sectors. You'll shape the narrative, build the win themes, craft the language, and bring clarity and impact to every submission. Working across delivery, business development, presales, partners, and the executive team, you'll translate our capabilities into compelling client outcomes and drive a seamless, structured bid process from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
* Own the proposal narrative — write clear, compelling, client-centred responses that differentiate Reason Group and address each evaluation criterion with precision.
* Lead bids end-to-end, including qualification, bid strategy, storyboarding, drafting, internal reviews, and submission.
* Develop the bid plan — define components, deliverables, contributors, timelines, review gates, and executive approvals.
* Coordinate multidisciplinary stakeholders (delivery, presales, partners, executives) to gather insights, shape strategy, and ensure a unified voice.
* Transform technical and consulting content into accessible, persuasive storytelling aligned to procurement needs and client objectives.
* Manage proposal artefacts including CVs, case studies, service descriptions, compliance matrices, templates, and standard collateral.
* Strengthen our bid engine — refine content libraries, uplift templates, embed win themes, and drive consistency in tone, style, and value messaging.
* Ensure all submissions meet mandatory requirements, procurement rules, contractual obligations, and Commonwealth/State frameworks.
What Makes You a Great Fit
* Demonstrated experience managing and writing major bids or proposals in consulting, digital services, technology, or government procurement environments.
* Deep understanding of Australian Government tendering (e.g., DTA, ICT panels, Digital Marketplace 2.0, Local Jobs First, CPRs).
* Exceptional writing skills — you can distil complexity, build compelling arguments, and articulate value clearly and elegantly.
* Highly organised, with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent submissions.
* Confident working with senior stakeholders and facilitating effective collaboration across teams.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, with a knack for producing clean, structured, and visually coherent documents.
* Familiarity with enterprise technology ecosystems (ServiceNow, SAP, TechnologyOne, Oracle) is highly regarded.
