The Farm Manager is responsible for the overall management of day-to-day farm operations. This role ensures production targets are achieved while maintaining animal welfare, biosecurity, safety, and company standards. The position requires strong leadership, operational planning, and hands-on involvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee daily farm operations and production performance
* Manage, train, and supervise farm staff
* Ensure animal welfare, biosecurity, and food safety standards are met
* Monitor flock health, environmental conditions, and farm performance
* Implement and follow company procedures and policies
* Maintain accurate records, reports, and compliance documentation
* Coordinate maintenance, cleaning, and equipment operation
* Ensure workplace health and safety (WHS) compliance
* Liaise with management, veterinarians, and support teams as required
Required Skills (Must-haves):
* Previous experience in poultry or livestock farm management
* Strong leadership and people management skills
* Knowledge of animal welfare and biosecurity practices
* Ability to work independently and make operational decisions
* Good communication and problem-solving skills
* Basic computer skills for reporting and record keeping
* Understanding of WHS requirements
* Relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential)
