A leading independent school in Brisbane's south is seeking an outstanding Mathematics Teacher to join a high‐performing faculty. The Role
This is an opportunity for a passionate Maths educator to deliver engaging, rigorous learning programs across Years 7‐12, with the ability to teach senior Mathematics viewed favourably. You will contribute to a collaborative faculty culture that values evidence‐informed teaching, thoughtful curriculum design and strong student relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver, and assess high‐quality Mathematics programs aligned to the relevant curriculum and senior assessment framework.
* Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including extension and enrichment as well as targeted intervention.
* Use data to monitor progress, provide timely feedback, and support student improvement.
* Maintain a positive classroom environment with high expectations for learning, behaviour, and presentation.
* Contribute to curriculum planning, moderation, and shared resource development within the faculty.
* Engage positively with parents/guardians and contribute to the broader life of the school (pastoral care, co‐curricular involvement as suited).
Skills & Experience (Essential)
* Queensland Teacher Registration
* Demonstrated success teaching Mathematics in a secondary setting.
* Strong curriculum knowledge and the ability to design sequenced lessons that build conceptual understanding and procedural fluency.
* Effective classroom management and a student‐centred approach to learning.
* High‐quality communication, professionalism, and a collaborative mindset.
* 2 x References within the last 5 years (most recent and relevant).
Desirable
* Ability to teach one or more senior subjects (e.g., Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, General Mathematics).
* Experience supporting extension pathways, competitions, tutoring programmes, or enrichment initiatives.
* Familiarity with data‐informed teaching, common assessment, and moderation processes within a high‐performing faculty.
