Be part of an experienced team of passionate therapists who are implementing Queensland’s first Functional Family Therapy – Child Welfare (FFT-CW) program. FFT-CW is an evidence-informed therapy program that achieves lasting behaviour change for vulnerable families in the Browns Plains and Beaudesert region.
You’ll be working with families and children in their homes to create meaningful change by helping them to understand their strengths and teaching them new ways to solve problems.
As well as having clinical experience, the person for this role will need to be flexible, engaging and have a high level of emotional intelligence.

About the job
Role location: Jimboomba. Our Jimboomba office is only 40 minutes from Logan and Springfield, and a one-hour drive from the Gold Coast.
Role type: Permanent, full-time
Pay range: $110,462 - $112,902 a year based on experience, with salary packaging available, exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax
You will
* work flexible hours, including two or more evenings a week
* be based at our Jimboomba office and have access to free parking
* provide weekly structured therapy sessions in line with the FFT-CW phased model
* benefit from intensive training in the FFT-CW model, regular ongoing clinical support and a flexible work environment that includes working from home options.
About you
Aside from meeting the key capabilities outlined in the related position description available from the link below, ideally you will bring the following: a client focus, emotional intelligence, resilience, flexibility, inclusiveness, a collaborative spirit, creativity, innovation and cultural awareness.
* You will also have tertiary qualifications in psychology, or a Master’s in Social Work or counselling.
* Professional registration with PACFA, AASW, ACWA, ACA, or APHRA (or psychological equivalent) is essential.
* Experience in trauma-informed practice, family systems theory, and cognitive-behavioural therapy will be highly regarded. A commitment to working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and people from diverse backgrounds is also important.
