Job Opportunity: Offender Management Officer
Job Description
The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an Offender Management Officer to provide a critical role at Tarrengower Prison. This position will support the implementation of the Offender Management initiatives and processes, ensuring consistent and quality offender management practices across the location.
* Provide mentoring and training to case workers regarding offender management processes, including case planning, strategy implementation, motivating compliance, and monitoring progress of prisoners on their caseload.
* Liaise with the Offender Management Supervisor and leadership team members to ensure consistent offender management processes.
* Assist in the development and maintenance of both paper-based and electronic information systems intended to evaluate the processes and outcomes of offender management, including the collation and reporting of information and data as requested.
* Communicate effectively with prisoners and respond constructively to prisoner requests and complaints, relevant to offender management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Knowledge of the Offender Management Framework and Community Corrections Permit Program is desirable.
* Qualifications include completion of the Prison Officer Pre-service Training and Certificate III in Correctional Practice (Custodial) or similar.
