About the Role
We're looking for an RF Engineer to join our engineering team. You'll be working across both existing product lines and R&D initiatives, tackling real world RF design challenges that directly support defence technology applications. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to products in active service while also shaping the next generation of RF enabled systems.
What You'll Be Doing
* Designing, simulating, and testing RF circuits and subsystems across various frequency bands
* Supporting the maintenance, improvement, and evolution of existing RF product lines
* Contributing to R&D efforts exploring new RF technologies and system architectures
* Performing RF measurements, characterisation, and troubleshooting using laboratory test equipment
* Developing and reviewing RF layout designs with consideration for signal integrity, shielding, and EMC
* Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate RF subsystems into broader platforms
* Preparing technical documentation including design reports, test procedures, and performance analyses
* Staying current with developments in RF technology, components, and design methodologies
What We're Looking For
* Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
* Solid understanding of RF fundamentals including transmission line theory, impedance matching, filter design, and modulation techniques
* Experience with RF simulation tools such as ADS, CST, HFSS, or similar
* Proficiency with RF test equipment including spectrum analysers, network analysers, and signal generators
* Ability to work across the full RF design cycle from schematic capture through to PCB layout review and bench validation
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail
* Reliable team player with good communication skills
* Australian citizenship required for this position
Desirable but Not Essential
* Experience with antenna design, characterisation, or integration
* Familiarity with EMC/EMI standards and compliance testing
* Experience with embedded systems or FPGA based signal processing
* Understanding of digital communications and software defined radio concepts
* Experience with PCB design tools (Altium Designer or similar)
* Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows
* Prior experience in the defence or aerospace industry
