Primary objective
Provide a range of services associated with the issuing of licences, permits, occupational registrations and authorities across
a broad range of legislative frameworks administrated by the work unit.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Under the direction of the Licensing Supervisor or Licensing Officers, process licence applications and permits, including
assessment and recommendation for grant or refusal.
2. Update and maintain the licensing systems and databases for regulatory and performance reporting requirements.
3. Provide advice to applicants and other stakeholders regarding licence and permit applications/renewals and on other
matters regulated by the licensing unit.
4. Prepare licensing related correspondence, including renewal advice.
5. Provide assistance in the regulation and monitoring of incorporated Associations, and other regulated businesses, entities,
and occupations.
6. Participate in Licensing Compliance Programs.
7. Prepare information for the Director and Delegates as required.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated integrity and ability to deal with confidential and sensitive issues with discretion.
2. Ability to interpret and apply legislation within a regulatory framework.
3. Experience using various software packages including spreadsheets and database applications.
4. Sound oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
6. Sound organisation skills, ability to use initiative and work with limited supervision to meet deadlines.
Desirable
1. Understanding and/or experience working in a regulatory legislative environment.
