Your new position:
Reporting to the General Manager, this is a pivotal 12-month contract role covering maternity leave.
As Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the finance function, leading a small team and ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of financial operations across the business.
This is a hands-on role, suited to an experienced finance leader who thrives in both technical accounting and day-to-day operations.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, including financial reporting in line with IFRS.
- Managing daily finance operations across AP, AR, payroll accounting, banking, and cash flow management.
- Taking ownership of corporate tax compliance for Australia and New Zealand, including acting as Public Officer.
- Leading external audits, ensuring compliance with statutory reporting and governance requirements.
- Partnering with the wider business and global headquarters on financial matters and process improvements
- Coaching and developing a small finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- CA/CPA (or equivalent) qualified with strong technical financial accounting and corporate tax expertise.
- Proven experience with financial reporting, compliance, and corporate tax in a complex business environment.
- Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently across all levels of the business.
- Prior experience in wholesale distribution is highly regarded but not essential.
